The highest village of Naxos

Today we will visit the highest village of the island: Apiranthos!

We will drive in about 1 hour up to the mountains with several famous photo stops.

In Apiranthos we will start our small hiking tour (max. 2 hours) up to the highest peak in the area. On the top you will have a stunning view over Naxos and the islands of the Cyclades.

The way back is an old, spectacular donkey trail.

We will end the round walk in the village with plenty of taverns, cafés and shops.

The next stop is the oldest church of Naxos. After a short visit be will drive back to the coast through an area with plenty of olive groves followed by an area looking a little bit like on Mars.

Please wear sturdy shoes, don't forget water and bring sun protective equipment.

For the church a long armed shirt is recommended. On the mountain it could also be a little bit colder and windy.
